Homeschooling is a lot of wonderful things! It’s a blessing, a gift, a full-time job, a sacrifice, a journey, and adventure and on and on and on. It can also be a financial challenge. Most, though not all, homeschooling families are operating off a single income. The costs of the curriculum can be high. Homeschool Discounts On Supplies and Equipment
Academic Superstore: Academic Superstore offers year-round discounts on school supplies to homeschool teachers. They offer everything from computers to software for music and arts to STEAM project supplies.

Dell: At the time of this writing, Dell is offering $100 off as part of its Exclusive Education Savings. Plus students-only offers and savings are available as well as early access to special sales events.
Notebooks For Students: Microsoft product policy has defined a homeschool program or student as a qualified educational user. This allows NFS to provide academic products and discount laptops to homeschool families at the same price and with the same software as traditional public school facilities. Presently NFS supplies thousands of laptops to public schools and now we can do the same for homeschoolers. Simply stated, we here at NFS are very excited about our Homeschool Program.
Apple Computers: Save on everything Apple through their homeschool store.
Free Homeschool ID Card from Homeschool Buyer’s Co-Op: You can always simply use your proof of homeschooling letter but these ids are still nice to have. Simply join the co-op (it’s free). Then you can print one free, or simply pay the shipping and have one mailed to you!
The Container Store: The Container Store offers educators 10% off all purchases with a special discount card. You can also take advantage of special offers through their Organized Teacher program! Sign Up Here.
Homeschool Discounts On Art & Crafts
Michael’s: My favorite store on the planet! As a homeschool teacher, we save 15% on all of our arts and crafts purchases! They also send you great email offers! Sign up in store for these deals.
Jo-ann Fabrics: Save 15% off every purchase with their Teacher Appreciation Card! Apply in store.
Ben Franklin: Teachers shopping for classroom materials at their neighborhood Ben Franklin Crafts store can receive 10% or more off their entire in-store purchase. To take advantage of these savings, simply show your teacher ID at the register. The discount is available in-store only and varies by location.
Homeschool Deals and Discounts On Books
Books A Million: I use this one a lot. The Books-A-Million Educator’s Discount Program is a discount card program that is free for all educators, entitling them to a 20% discount on all items that they purchase in store. Educators will be eligible to receive additional savings and benefits during educator events in-store and online. Barnes and Noble: This is an educator card I use a lot too. Probably more than I should! It saves you 20% off the publisher’s list price on any books you are using in the classroom and you get email offers with good deals too. Sign up here.
Book-It: T was actually part of this program through public school and now it is available for homeschoolers too. Kids can earn Pizza Hut coupons by reading! They can redeem their Reading Award Certificates for their own free one-topping personal pan pizza. Now that’s motivating!
Educational Comic Books from The Federal Reserve: The New York Fed’s Educational Comic Book Series brings readers on an out-of-this-world journey to teach about basic economic principles and the Federal Reserve’s role in the financial system. CTC Math: 1/2 Price for Homeschoolers. CTC Math offers lessons to grades 1 through 6 from basic math to calculus!
826 Digital: This collection of writing resources is really amazing and is currently free for educators and homeschoolers! (Donations are recommended). Tons of lesson plans, projects, and writing prompts are ready for grades 1 through 12.

Homeschool Discounts On Entertainment
Colonial Williamsburg: During Homeschool Days (click here for dates) pay just $10 per student and $12.50 per adult. Children 5 and under are free. Living history museum and two art museums at Colonial Williamsburg offer something for everyone, from hands-on activities to guided tours of original 18th-century buildings to our unmatched folk-art collection.
Jamestown Settlement: Jamestown Settlement offers both regular discounts on admission for homeschoolers with tickets as follows:
- Jamestown Settlement & the American Revolution Museum at Yorktown Combination Ticket: $10.50 youth / $15.50 adults
- Jamestown Settlement Ticket: $7.25 youth / $10.25 adults
- The American Revolution Museum at Yorktown Ticket: $7.25 youth / $10.25 adults
As well as the Homeschool Days Event! Tickets are just $12 and include the following:
- Admission to Jamestown Settlement throughout Homeschool Program Days, including the introductory film 1607: A Nation Takes Root, permanent exhibition galleries, replica 1607 ships, re-created Powhatan Indian village, and 1610-1614 colonial fort, and more.

Biltmore Estates: Join us for hands-on activities and demonstrations that highlight the Vanderbilt’s travels and life at home.
This is a one-day event. Your choice of Thursday or Friday includes a morning or afternoon time at the Homeschool Festival area. You will then enjoy the rest of your day with a self-guided visit in Biltmore House, Gardens, Conservatory, Antler Hill Village and Winery. All Homeschool activities will be held near the Antler Hill Farm area.
We love attending their Homeschool Days events. They take you all over Biltmore and their learning opportunities around every corner. We toured the mansion, toured the grounds, visited the solar panel fields, spoke with wildlife experts, and so much more during our last visit. Last year tickets were just $23 each! When I went back to see the Christmas trees without the visit it was over $70 so this is a great deal!
Dollywood Homeschool Days: Save BIG by attending Dollywood homeschool Days! This year admission is just $37 for homeschool students and $48 for parents. Plus students get a free lunch. Splash Country Admission is just $37 during Homeschool Days as well. You can also save big by staying at Dolly’s Dream More Resorts during the event! A beautiful place and rooms start at just $93 a night.
Titanic in Pigeon Forge: We love this place! It’s really amazing and last time we went our tickets were just $9.00 each! They don’t have special days you have to wait for either, all year long you can use your homeschool discount! And you should…
Ripley’s Aquarium at The Smokies: Our most used discount. Wherever you live, check out your local aquarium because most do offer homeschool discounts! Our favorite place is Ripley’s and we go so often that we are familiar with those who call it home quite personally. $10.99 entry with id. Mount Vernon – Mount Vernon offers tons of homeschool activities! Special Rate for Homeschool Families: Free for children 5 and under, $9 for homeschool students ages 6-18, $10 for adults. Wonderworks – Pigeon Forge: Homeschool Days come several times a year and offer tickets for only $12 per person +tax or $10 per person +tax if you have a group of 10 or more! Find the dates here.

Homeschool Deals For My Local Friends
Appalachian Caverns: Groups of ten or more and everyone gets in at the child’s rate of $7.50. For groups of more than ten please contact them for rates.
Bristol Caverns: Call your co-op! Groups of 20 or more receive reduced pricing. Adults $15 and Children $6.50. Call ahead to schedule.
Children’s Museum of Oak Ridge: Groups of ten or more are just $5.00 each.
Chimney Rock Homeschool Days: We love Chimney Rock. I wrote about it too – right here. Their Homeschool Days Event includes these deals: $14 adult admission, no charge for adult annual pass holders, $14 youth (ages 5-15) admission and programs, $8 Rockin’ Discovery pass holder. You do need to call to make a reservation.
Hands-On Discovery Museum: Homeschool Teachers get free admission with proof of homeschool. Students age 4 – 17 are $10 and 3 and under are free.
Heart of Tennessee Gymnastics: Homeschool gym for $5/child with a max of $12/family on Thursday each week.
Just Jump Trampoline Park: We love this place and I even reviewed it right here. They are offering even better deals this year. 1 hour for $5, 1.5 hours for $7.50 and 2 hours for $10. These rates are available Monday – Thursday, 1-3 pm when public schools are in session (so not on holidays or breaks).
Paramount Bristol: Paramount does offer student discounts to many of their shows. In addition, some of their plays or ballets offer exclusive showings for Elementary aged students with special discounts. These events and discounts vary, so it is best for individuals or groups interested in participating to see our website, paramountbristol.org, or call the Box Office at (423) 274-8920.
Quantum Leap Trampoline Park: $5 per child for groups who call ahead! (Regularly $12 an hour)
- Admission is $5 for everyone ages 5 and older, with a family rate of $20 for families of 5 or more. (Members of Rocky Mount are $3 for everyone ages 5 and older, with a family rate of $10.)
- Each craft is $3 per child per session.
